Rochester Rock, Ice & Snow Climbing Club

A club for rock, ice and snow climbers in Rochester, New York. Monthly meetings, open to all.

October 2001 Meeting

Date
Monday 8 October 2001
Where
35 Devonshire Ct

The RRISCC October meeting is scheduled to be held at Stu Milligan’s house on the 8th at 7:30 pm. That is a Monday night.  Five climbs in Colorado will be featured in slides (El Diente, Fuller Peak, Castle Peak, Capitol Peak and Apache Peak) and a climb of Cody Peak in the Tetons, WY.

Since dues were scheduled for collection during the September meeting, that’ll carry over to the October meeting. Also, the member list posted on a sub-page of our home page will not be purged of non-dues-paying persons until the end of November.

A word of caution to those who aren’t acquainted with my annoying habit of keeping the house thermostat at 50 degrees F. or below – if the weather is cold on or just before the 8th, bring warm clothing! You’ll need it – just ask those who know about my ridiculous behaviors. To compensate, refreshments will be provided, if they haven’t frozen stiff.  Drinks will also be provided, but not beer – another one of my irksome denials. Bring you own beer, if you must have it.

Location

My house is at 35 Devonshire Ct. , Rochester.   Here are directions:

If coming from I-390, get off at the Chili Avenue exit and turn left toward the city. You will go over the canal bridge almost immediately. Go through three lights (hopefully not while they’re red) and go one block short of the fourth light (Gardiner Pk on the left and Thurston Rd. on the right), then turn right on Salina St. & follow Salina to the end, which literally dumps into my driveway. My house is the yellow and white one.  If coming west down Chili Av., turn left one block after the Thurston interchange on Salina St.  If coming down Thurston Rd., turn left one big block before the Thurston-Chili interchange on Devonshire Ct. and go a few houses to where Salina St. comes in from the right – house is on the left side.   If coming some other way, you’re on your own.

See you there.

Stu Milligan

RRISCC President
