March Meeting
The RRISCC March meeting is scheduled to be held at Henry & Nancy Hamlin’s home on Monday the 13th at 7:30 pm. This will be a fascinating slide account of Henry’s Himalayan climbs on Cho Oyu in Tibet, which he undertook in 1998 and again in 1999. Check the full-sized photo of sun-burnt Henry on Cho Oyu under the photos link on the main page. This promises to be an exciting program of unique mountain images in a part of the world that is synonymous with mountainous, and which most of us don’t get to see up close and personal.
Their home is at 1490 East Av. in The Crescent, Rochester, NY. Directions to their place:
This is a semi-circle of townhouses located on the north side of East Avenue between Culver Road and Winton Road. Right next door to Valley Manor and almost directly across the street from the Academy of Medicine. Each unit has its own number (they are 1490) and they are one to the left of dead center. Park in the circle. The Crescent is marked by a pair of brick pillars–enter between them and go around the circle.
Hope you can make this special arm-chair Himalayan get-together. As a by-product we could yak and yak all evening, that is, when Henry isn’t yakking. Or, better, we could munch and munch and yak and yak!
