February Meeting

The RRISCC December meeting is scheduled to be held at Doug Wall’s home on Monday the 14th (Valentine’s Day – bring something nice for the host) at 7:30 pm. Doug will be sharing his slides of the Polish Glacier route on Mt. Aconcagua, situated in Argentina, highest point in the western and southern hemispheres, nearly 23,000 feet.  Their high camp was located at 21,000 feet.  Now there’s a restless night, especially if you don’t have ear plugs to mute the high winds relentlessly beating against your tent.  From there, they boogied to the top, that is if there is to be any boogeying on that mountain.

Doug’s home is at 250 Moul Rd., Hilton, NY. Directions to his place follow:

Take 390 N to the Ontario State Parkway. Take the Parkway west to Lighthouse Rd. (3 roads west of Braddock Bay). Turn left and take Lighthouse Rd. south to the first crossroad (Moul Rd.).  Turn right and go about 1/4 mi. to 250 Moul Rd. (north side of rd.)  Home phone is 392-3478.

Hope you can make this special event. See you there. I will not be able to attend this meeting since I will be down in Argentina making an attempt on the same mountain via the same route.  I did see Doug’s slide presentation shortly after he returned from South America and I can vouch that Doug has some great pictures.  Unless you want to discuss certain business matters, there will be no conducting of business matters that evening, just a fun sociable evening.
