We plan to meet at 6:30 pm on the 13th in the lodge at Gander Mtn. Store. Be sure to attend. Leo Linder will be sharing recent climbs in Bolivia. Here is a summary of what was done: Erik Grimm, Lawrence Creatura and Leo Linder spent 10 days climbing in Bolovia – 6 days in the Condoriri valley. They were there from May 4th to May 14th, 2007. First, they warmed-up by tackling a minor peak. Then, separate successful summits of Pequeño Alpamayo (5370m / 17,618ft) were done. Lastly, Lawrence attempted to climb Cabeza de Cóndor (5648m / 18,530ft), which is more technical than the prior two.
Some of their photos are posted just below. So you see, you’re in for a special treat.
Those who wish to join or renew membership in RRISCC by paying the annual dues amount of $10.00, can do so for the new fiscal year September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2008 by sending a check to Henry Hamlin. His address can be found here. The advantages are that dues-paying members are entitled to a 10% or 15% discount at area outdoor stores, such as Snow Country & EMS. Also, dues-paying members can borrow library materials belonging to the club and/or Stu Milligan as listed here. A membership card will be mailed to you for use at area outdoor stores. So, bring along a check made out to RRISCC or cash and pass it along to Henry Hamlin who will be at this meeting. Remember, you do not have to become a member to attend the club’s meetings, so come one, come all.
