Special February 2005 Meeting

We plan to meet on Wednesday evening the 9th in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club for a special combined meeting featuring guide and mountaineer Daniel Mazur.  He will highlight some of his climbs in the Himalayas with photographic visuals. Pemba Dolma Sherpa, first Nelalese woman to summit and survive Mt. Everest (or as she would call it, Chomolungma – commonly translated as Goddess, Mother of Earth), will also share some of her slides. The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm in the Eisenhart Auditorium by the Rochester Science and Museum Center.  Further details of this program will be posted at a later time.  Reserve the date.  Why not invite your friends to come along with you?

Those who wish to join RRISCC officially by paying the annual dues amount of $10.00 can do so for our new fiscal year September 1, 2004 through August 31, 2005 by sending a check to Henry Hamlin.  His address can be found here.  The advantages are that dues-paying members are entitled to a 15% discount at area outdoor stores, such as Snow Country, EMS and Get Out and Stay Out.  Also, dues-paying members can borrow library materials belonging to the club and Stu Milligan that are listed here.  A membership card will be mailed to you.
